The Journey Home

The Journey Home was coneived as a slowly evolving mixed soundtrack for an art installation of the same name by Steve McKinney and Jonathan Aaberg in 1999 at the Mission Cultural Center in San Francisco. The audio CD contains one interation of the four components of that soundtrack. It consists of four pieces: North, South, East, and West, mixed with voices of people from our San Francisco neighborhood calling out, in their home languages, the names of the four directions. as if calling out to ancestors, guiding them home.

The video here is that soundtrack overlaid with another video constructed for an in-home Halloween installation in 2009.
